Hotel Rapids

Was a very cool concept with decent execution. My family had a wonderful time in the main bedrooms but the side bedroom with the bunk beds smelled strongly of weed and got so unbearably hot that we ended up sleeping on the couches in the living room. They were more comfortable than the beds. The breakfast was amazing and some of the best food I have ever had in my life.

We rolled into Grand Rapids in the evening and got a last minute room. After trying every known hack to get the heat to come on at 2am We slept with no heat and woke up freezing. Also, when we arrived the room was pretty musty smelling, which makes sense because it may have gone without heat for some time. Before we knew we would have a freezing cold night, we did receive a discount on dinner at the Rapid Brewing and breakfast vouchers for the hotel cafe. After spending a good chunk of change for our cold room, our coffees were comp’d for the inconvenience. The people were kind, and breakfast crepes were awesome. The shower in our room was nice and hot with good pressure. They offer complimentary bottled water and there is coffee machine in the room. Our room had a funky old tub from the 1950 that gave us a good chuckle. The bed was pretty darn hard, but the pillows were soft. Over all, some good and some bad things that balanced out to a good 4 star stay. Will we stay again? There are many options in Grand Rapids. We wouldn’t rule it out, but we also won’t seek it out.

Really happy we chose to stay here, just wished we stayed longer than a night! We booked the grand suite and it was basically an apartment. Very clean (except for two beer bottle caps in the couch cushions), there’s definitely room for large families to stay here. Friendly attendant at the front desk on arrival. If we come this way again we will definitely book more than one night so we can enjoy the other amenities offered.
